Hey, let me introduce myself. I’m Manya Harsha, a 15-year-old green innovator, author of eight nature-themed books, and founder of Sunshine – Children for Change. An environmental activist since the age of four, I work to protect the planet through tree plantations, waste reduction, creative recycling, and climate education empowering young people to become changemakers for a greener future.

Well, let me first introduce myself to you all. Born to parents smitten by travel, its Travel that brought me close to Nature. My association with Nature has been since a very young age. Travel introduced me to both the positive and negative sides. While the lush green trees, chirping birds, and blue waters, inspired me to poetry , on the other hand , the polluted lakes , drought , heat waves, famine, floods, and the long queue for drinking water in the countryside, made me understand the importance for Climate Action. So it all started with penning down books to initiating walkathon, clean up drives, plantation drives, and many other eco-friendly activities.

Post Festival the Indian market struggles at the disposal of vast quantities of waste, from banana stems to ash gourd to flower garlands. Heaps of flowers, bannana stems, mangoe leaf , are dumped on the roadside , unattended ..

On an average, A Bengaluru generates around 4,500 tonnes of waste daily. The city sees an increase in waste generation of at least by 35% during the festive period.
